Before I share my brilliant SEO strategy cake I thought I would do like all great food bloggers do - ramble on with several-thousand words of pretentious waffle, in a bid to raise the level of my content in a way that provides me with real meaning and false-importance, deluding myself from the fact that ultimately everyone skips this part anyway and jumps straight to the recipe.
The year is 1987.
I have just been born.
Instinctively somehow I just knew I was destined to make it as an SEO consultant.
And not just any old SEO consultant - the best bloody SEO consultant in the world.
{insert more dull waffling here}
And this leads me to now - having had this SEO strategy cake handed down from generation-to-generation (I'm famously from a long line of SEOs) - I can finally reveal to you today the ingredients, and methodology, of producing the tastiest SEO strategy cake, ever...

SEO Strategy Cake
Equipment
- Oven
- Spatula
- Whisk
- Wooden Spoon
Ingredients
- cup Keyword Research
- 2 tbsp On-Page Optimisation
- 0.75 cup High-Quality Content
- 1 pinch Internal Linking
- 4 tbsp Technical SEO
- 2 cup Backlinks
- 1 tsp Local SEO
Instructions
- Preheat the Strategy - start by prepping your oven, i.e., conducting comprehensive keyword research. This will set the right temperature (foundation) for your strategy. Make sure to target a balanced mix of short-tail and long-tail keywords that align with user intent. Your SEO cake will rise better with the right foundation!
- Prepare the Cake Batter - in a large mixing bowl, combine your title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags (H1, H2, H3). This is the base structure that holds everything together. Gently fold in keyword placements, making sure they blend naturally into the mix—don’t overbeat (overstuff), or you’ll risk spoiling the batter!
- Add Fresh Ingredients (Content Creation) - now, mix in high-quality, original content like flour and eggs in your cake mix. The content should be valuable and informative for your audience, ensuring a smooth, creamy texture. For added richness, sprinkle in multimedia elements like images, infographics, and videos—this will give your cake that irresistible fluffiness that search engines love!
- Layer the Cake with Filling - once the batter is in the pan, start creating layers by adding internal links. These links will bind the different parts of your cake (website) together, helping the search engine understand how everything connects. Use meaningful anchor text to create structured, even layers.
- Sift and Refine - before baking, sift through the mix and remove any lumps by focusing on technical SEO. This means making sure your site is mobile-friendly, has a fast page load speed, and is secure (HTTPS). These elements ensure a smooth and well-baked cake, avoiding any unpleasant surprises like a cake that doesn't rise (bad user experience or poor rankings).
- Bake Slowly for the Best Results - now it’s time to pop the cake into the oven! Slowly and steadily, let your backlink profile rise. Like baking a cake, backlink-building takes patience. Focus on quality backlinks from authoritative websites, just like you’d use premium ingredients for a cake. Let them develop over time—don’t rush or overbake, as poor-quality backlinks can burn your SEO cake.
- Ice and Decorate the Cake - once your cake is baked and cooled, it’s time to add the frosting. Decorate it with local SEO, ensuring your business has been added to Google My Business. This icing layer increases visibility and makes the cake (your website) look even more delicious to local users.
Notes
- Don’t forget to experiment with different flavors (strategies), but always ensure the basics (on-page optimization, content, and backlinks) are solid.
- Avoid shortcuts like artificial sweeteners (black-hat tactics). It may make the cake look good in the short term, but it’ll leave a bad aftertaste (penalties).
- Regular updates are like baking more batches—keep at it to keep users coming back for more slices of your delicious SEO cake!
