Search Marketing for Hotels

I've been lucky enough to work in the hospitality search marketing industry for several years now - beginning when I was working as a PPC & SEO specialist for Bookassist, a technology company based in Dublin which primarily provided booking engine software for hotels, and later for Travel Tripper, based in New York, where I was heading up their SEO program. 

During this time I've worked with a number of big-sized independent hotels as well as big hotel groups and chains, and like to feel I've learned a lot about digital marketing within this highly-competitive search field. Independent hotels face a constant battle to "win" the direct booking (whereby they receive more profit) vs losing the booking through a 3rd party - like an online travel agent ( for example).

This is why I've decided to setup a Search Marketing for Hotels section on my blog, whereby I'll be putting questions to leading individuals working within the search marketing industry - whether they're helping hotels with SEO, PPC, Email, Social - whatever the channel may be, as long as they're helping hotels to win the direct bookings battle then I'm interested in their opinions.
