Being a remote SEO consultant I've been able to work with clients all over the world, regardless of where they are based.
Sometimes timezones can make things a bit more challenging, but that only really applies to occasions where you need a one-on-one call. Otherwise async comms can work fine when it comes to carrying out SEO work.
Most of my clients have been based in the UK, since that's where I was born and spent many years working as an SEO consultant (I'm from
Bournemouth originally).
Whenever I've worked with businesses they've never needed to meet up in person - so my location has never been a problem. In 15+ years of working as an SEO consultant, I can count on my hand (and I think the answer is 2), the number of times a potential client wanted someone local to them, in case something went wrong.
So in short - I don't think my location actually matters!
